Simplicity - and remotes may become an issue. It did with mama. She would often get it mixed up with the phone (I changed phones to stop that) But these remotes are ideal for sooner rather than later for your loved one. And when I say "remotes", you'll need a couple. Try out a few and see which ones will suit then adjust as needed. There are lots however these are the ones I tried, with notes below. Couple of things I tried here. I taped over the mute button as Mama would press it and wouldn't know how to unmute. Then I fixed the Volume so she wouldn't get mixed up. Tape and colourful paper comes to mind. As dementia progressed, I had access to the tv from overseas with Alexa speaker. I found ways to "fix" the AV button so she wouldn't press that either. Oh and I tied them to the tables. Cuz she would go wandering with them and lose the remote.

It's a well known remote and credit due for this team for creating such an easy remote. Just volume, channel, on/off and mute. Done! Couple of things I tried here. I taped over the mute button as Mama would press it and wouldn't know how to unmute. Then I messed around with the Volume so she wouldn't get mixed up.

Somewhere along the way, Ma couldn't use the above remotes. She would go through the channels too quickly. Get mixed up with volume and channel. So this one, with some tweaks worked for over a year. Had 3 of them. NOTE: I disabled the AV/Input button. Trying to explain to press that to get back to TV was almost impossible. And I was approx. 6000 miles away so easier to just disable.
