OUTDOOR RING Old faithful. This product stands out as the best option in my opinion. It is particularly useful for elderly (like my Mama) who was living alone and made me feel more comfortable halfway around the world knowing that I can see everything outside.
Now I realise in the USA, you would be hard pressed to find someone that doesn't have a Ring Doorbell however it is definitely a novelty in my surrounding area. I have purchased this device as I've promoted it heavily as well as "really easy to install and provides some security". So far, 4 neighbours and friends have them and counting!
This camera provides a wide view of the neighbourhood and features an extra loud volume option to deter potential intruders.
The picture clarity is excellent, and it sends alerts whenever someone approaches the door.
Night Vision is very clear too.
It also records. There is a cost, of course with a free trail offered for a month.
Offers the flexibility to set specific zones to minimize disturbances.
The battery-operated version is recommended for ease of installation, with straightforward instructions provided.
Includes a feature to notify you when it requires recharging. It's a simple plug in and recharge.
Can be accessed halfway across the world - and I did many times.
Challenges:
Very loud speakerphone that you cannot adjust (so you whisper and it sounds creepy, but still effective I suppose)
Needs to be recharged every 2-4 months depending on usage. You will need to find someone who can re-charge it for you if you are not going to be able to do it or home every 2-3 months.
Needs to be drilled into wall - meaning you'll need a handyman to drill this into the wall unless you can do yourself.

INDOOR RING
This is one of the best INDOOR cameras in my opinion.
Although I originally intended this to be attached to a wall, I have several placed on a table in the sitting room/bedroom and kitchen to monitor different views of the room as well as notifying me when or if mama enters the room during the night.
This has:
Real-time capturing with minimal delay.
Clear sound and excellent visual quality.
Minimal lag.
Easy app and all camera's in one place/page that updates regularly.
It also records. There is a cost, of course with a free trail offered.
Challenges:
The cable is too small and I purchased a few longer ones to mount to the wall. (6.5ft)
I wish this had a tilt and pan. Although the coverage is good, it would really help when/if I mount to a wall. It does have an adjustable mount but one nudge and you knock it off course.
Dread the day I need customer service as this is an Amazon product and it's UK.
