Blink Wireless (& wired) Cameras

Back in 2020, when I first started caring for Mama from another country, I used wireless Blink cameras. At the time, they seemed like the perfect solution. They were small, battery-operated, easy to install, and I could place them almost anywhere.

They worked really well... at first.

The biggest surprise was the battery life. Although they were advertised to last much longer, I found myself replacing the batteries roughly every three months with the way I was using them. That was very different from what I'd expected.

I also discovered that if the sync module stopped working, everything stopped working, and getting help from customer support wasn't easy.

Despite that, I still found them useful because they were so small and could be placed almost anywhere. They became another part of my backup system, and as you'll probably have realised by now, I was a big believer in having backups for my backups.
See exactly how I set up our home in my caregiving planning guide. You can also learn more on my How I Can Help page.

BLINK MINI (wired)
I purchased a few of these cameras because the wireless ones (see above), whilst functional, had some challenges. Although these have wires, I found creative ways to manage them. They are decent and I use them as backups.

Have you used any of these? What did you think? Are there others you think work better? Add in the comments below.
